The Georgia Trout Camp has enjoyed great success and outstanding reviews from all over the country. Everyone who has attended learned not only about the importance of cold water resources- they became excellent at fly fishing for trout.

The Coosa Valley Chapter has two (2) slots per year. Prospective Students must have a desire to learn about all aspects of the mission statement of Trout Camp.

To apply for the Georgia Trout Camp, READ ABOUT THE CAMP AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLYING BY CLICKING THE FOLLOWING LINK: georgiatu.org/html/trout_camp.html. THE APPLICATION MUST BE SIGNED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE COOSA VALLEY CHAPTER. THE APPLICATION MUST BE MAILED TO ARRIVE IN CLAYTON GEORGIA BY MAY 1, 2009.

Mission Statement:

To increase awareness of and promote an appreciation for stream habitat, conservation, recovery, and stream rehabilitation by exposing the participants to the joys of trout fishing and developing their skills as environmental stewards.

This will be a weeklong camp involving fly-fishing basics, fly tying, and introductory water conservation and stream/forest ecology.

Georgia TU volunteers who are skilled in these areas, as well as representatives from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Forest Service, will provide instruction.
